Castle in the Gers

This Castle bears witness to 10 centuries of history.
Its origin is between the 10th and 12th centuries, but it is the birth around 1615, in this castle, of Charles de Batz, better known as "d'Artagnan" which gives it its notoriety.
This small castle, remodeled and enlarged in the 18th and 19th centuries, is surrounded by an agricultural and forest estate of 155 hectares, divided between park, forest and arable land. With two living levels, it develops an area of more than 700 m2, the reception rooms (living rooms) being located on the ground floor and opening to the south on the park, the bedrooms being located upstairs. The large entrance hall and its monumental staircase are listed as Historic Monuments.
The ground floor, in its western part, is also occupied by an old kitchen, witness to the old building, with its monumental fireplace and its exposed framework.
The outbuildings house the old stables and the old agricultural buildings. A small annex building is occupied by two gîtes.
Description of the operation
The agricultural land, free of any occupation, represents approximately 65 hectares. These are clay-limestone lands, partly in the hillside area, partly in the bottom of the valley, currently cultivated with non-irrigated cereals and oilseeds.
The 74-hectare forest estate (pine plantations and copses) is subject to a Simple Management Plan.

Discuss an Offer

If this or other properties are of potential serious interest, you may wish to speak in confidence and without obligation or commitment with a sympathetic senior negotiator to discuss what flexibility there may be in the price.

Getting the right deal can be a question of good timing and we have that information.

Whatever you read in the press, it is simply not true that one can apply a percentage discount to the price of any property we like the look of. And it is a real shame to fall in love with a property that is beyond what you wish to spend or can afford.

To arrange a callback, please email in-confidence@beauxvillages.com
