From our initial contact with Sean in the office at Aubeterre on a warm summer’s holiday afternoon in August 2023 to receiving the keys to our new home in France less than 6 months later, our experience with BVI was nothing short of sensational. Sean referred us to Mike in the Jonzac office who took over, organising a viewings tour for us in September - Mike was delightful to deal with, couldn’t be more helpful and informative and quickly grasped what we were looking for in a home in France. Be it luck or good judgement, the first house we looked at was the one! Then from the moment our offer was accepted through to completion just before Christmas, Mike and his team held our hands every step of the way, no questions were too silly and nothing was too much trouble ;o). We would, and have, wholeheartedly recommend BVI to any perspective house buyer looking in France. Having bought and sold houses in the U.K. for over 50 years, I have had dealings with lots of different estate agents however, I can safely say that Eleonore Goodfellow of Beaux Villages in Bellac, is by far the best ever. Her meticulous attention to detail is refreshing and her conscientious and consistent approach to communication is nothing less that brilliant. I would have no reservations in recommending her services to anyone. From our first meeting, my wife and myself, were extremely pleased with the positive way she answered our numerous questions and followed up all of her actions with confirmation emails. We recently sold our home in France having used the services of Beaux Villages. From initial contact to signing, it took less than seven months. Prior to engaging Beaux Villages, our home was on the market for over two years with another estate agent having had only serious inquiry!  My reason for this feedback is to highlight the sole reason our home sold in record time – Rachel Roxburgh at Beaux Villages.  What an absolute star!! At first contact Rachel instilled a professional confidence in us that carried on throughout the entire sale process…transparent and painless. From the start Cathy has been superb. We decided to move after being in France for 11 years, but had no experience of selling. She explained the process completely, measured and assessed our property and quickly prepared our dossier for the market. Once the ball was rolling Cathy arranged all the necessary appointments and attended where it was helpful to us. We had a thousand questions and Cathy was able to answer them all, no matter how stupid or whatever the time of day. Viewers quickly started arriving, Cathy had prepared a dossier that enabled her colleagues to show their clients around with confidence, and 3 weeks later, we found our buyers, and within 3 months we were signing our house over. Even now, Cathy is still helping us with the handover of utilities and making sure that all loose are tied up for us. Buying a property in France seemed an overwhelming thing to do but we didn’t need to be worried. After seeing the perfect house for us, we spoke with Heather who immediately put our minds at rest and took time to talk us through the process. Heather met with us to talk us through things. She sent us written information to follow up what she had explained. We bought our house quite spontaneously but it was reassuring to have Heather and Catherine on hand to guide us through step by step.  

The process turned out to be very straightforward. We recently travelled from the UK for the Acte de Vente and were given the keys to our beautiful little house. Heather made sure we had everything we needed, she  advised and supported us with sorting out amenities and made sure things were in place so that we could move straight in.  Nothing was too much trouble and we appreciate the personal touch.
