Jacqui helped us through the buying process

Special thanks to Jacqui Reddin-Williams, our estate agent and the Beaux Villages team for their help with the recent purchase transaction of our “dream home” in France. As Americans moving to France, the process of purchasing a home was very different than the process in the US. Primarily, the traditional and now more recent roles of a “buyer’s agent” and a “seller’s agent” in the US do not apply in France. Consequently, we were confused about the roles of agents and how to communicate during the offer period and subsequent development of the Compromis and the ultimate Acte de Vente. When we were introduced to Jacqui we initially considered her to be the seller’s agent and took a plutonic position toward her despite her assurance that she also worked on our behalf. She proved herself during the negotiation with the sellers even with our having hired someone to search and evaluate properties for us. During the negotiation she absolutely performed as an impartial arbiter representing our position with clarity and skill. She worked with us hand-in-hand every step of the way from drafting the Compromis de Vente with the French notaire to the final Acte de Vente. Far beyond the sale she provided a wealth of information about the local community, the French culture, highlights of the area, vendors, and service providers. Jacqui is clearly an experienced professional being accessible and responsive. She has also extended herself as a friend beyond the purchase transaction. We are grateful to her steady hand on the wheel and helping to make our dream come true.

Henrietta Short was excellent

Henrietta was the agent on a property we recently bought in the Dordogne. She was excellent. We asked a lot of questions, many of which I wouldn't dream of asking a UK agent, including how much it would cost to do work renovating the house. She went out and found a builder who visited the property and provided a budget for the work. She contacted the local electricity provider for an estimate of work on moving an electricity pole. She was responsive, positive and helpful throughout. It's hard to think of how she could have done more. Thank you Henrietta!

From the start of our search Beaux Villages were above and beyond the service of most of the other estate agents we interacted with. There seems to be more information, more clarity, more attention to detail and an understanding of what a buyer needs, despite working on behalf of the seller. We worked with Emma Dolley on the purchase of our house. She combined the perfect blend of friendliness and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond. We felt confident and informed throughout the process (our first time buying) and any issues or questions were swiftly dealt with. We chose Beaux Villages Eymet for several reasons. We had been recommended by other clients, and we also knew Jane, plus we knew Beaux Villages have a link with Savills in the UK.
Jane was very professional from the initial meeting and met all our needs, keeping us well informed along the process journey of selling the property. They engaged genuine house hunters looking for our type of property. All visits were accompanied by Jane giving us ample notice of a visit, so that we could ensure best presentation. The internet presence was professional with excellent genuine photographs on the web. The access given to us via the website to view comments on viewing was an excellent tool that enabled us to keep track of visits by potential buyers.
Jane and Antony achieved an excellent price for us and nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure the sale went through as smoothly as possible. As with any sale we had some issues that were swiftly sorted and concluded by Jane. Both Jane and Antony were a pleasure to work with and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and we continue to recommend them and Beaux village to our friends and associates.

It is now exactly one year since we completed on our property in Eymet. We both work in the property industry in the UK and are well used to buying, selling and developing property. This was a whimsical and personal dream for us and from the moment our dealings began with Jane we knew we had found an agent that we liked and could trust. She was so helpful, considerate and way beyond the call of duty. My wife and I are in our early 80s and tend to be a bit forgetful, however Rachel would travel over to see us and never ever late on time and would encourage us both all the way through some difficult times.
