After a few vacations in France, we decided to look for a property that suited us and could serve as a second home. After some research, we came across "Beaux Villages Immobilier." We were initially drawn to this agency because of its clear and user-friendly website and the large selection of properties. After months of selecting and evaluating, we found a few candidate homes in the vast Charente region. We got in touch with Mrs. Nadia Van den Rym, who was helpful, friendly, and to the point (as expected, since she's also from Antwerp, just like us! Months of questions and answers passed until we finalized our list of candidate properties. A flight to Bordeaux later, we were able to check out the properties in person. Nadia had perfectly coordinated everything with her colleagues from the different regions, ensuring everything went smoothly. This was in October 2023... since February 2024, we have been the proud owners of a beautiful Charente farmhouse! Thanks to the entire Beaux Villages team, but especially to Nadia and Justin for the fantastic support during the first part of our French adventure. A bientôt!

Excellent and professional all round

Chris told us he would have it sold by the end of September and he was a man of his word - although we are just in the 10 cooling off period. The advertising he did was excellent with photos, video and drone footage and he was interested. Alexia was also brilliant at showing the property to the buyer.

We have met with Merrilees a number of times, and as newbies to the area, Merrilees showed us a variety of properties within her portfolio. Merrilees also introduced us to the area, the markets, and the surrounding areas. You couldn't hope for a better agent and guide to the area. I would highly recommend viewing properties with Merrilees as she helps you understand much more about the property and the surrounding area that you can't see when just viewing a place. She also has a great contacts list if you need things done. 5 stats is not enough.

Our experience with Nikki from Beaux Village was wonderful. We bought a holiday property in France whilst in Australia and she was professional and answered questions promptly. Not always an easy transaction to buy a property from overseas but she made it happen. A year later we decided we love France so much we will move here permanently. After 18 superb years in France we decided it was time to see out our time back in the UK. We paid a few visits there and eventually had an offer accepted on a property. We then needed to put the French house up for sale. Knowing a representative of Beaux Villages, David, we asked him to give us his assessment and valuation. He was very straightforward and the valuation was what we expected and a sensible one. The explanation of the process was outlined and we decided to go exclusively with them. David went round photographing the various aspects of the house and garden and put the house on the market. The prospectus on the Beaux Villages website was first class and would make anyone wonder why we were selling up. We didn’t expect much interest due to the winter approaching. We were surprised, having a viewing the same day it was advertised! But for a family problem they were going to make an offer. After that we had a steady stream of viewings during the winter arranged by other representatives of the agency besides David and a lady from Belgium made an offer we accepted. The liaison between ourselves and the buyer was trouble free through the agency, answering various questions the buyer was asking. David, whose French is perfect, was invaluable arranging various inspections necessary before the sale could take place. The sale went smoothly arranged by him using the Notary Office in Ruffec, who spoke perfect English, lasting only a few minutes due to the preparation done by him and Beaux Villages. They are to be highly recommended for their professional approach, knowledge and wide circulation of sales.

I should like to record my appreciation of the service that I received from you and your colleagues at Beaux Villages, in the recent sale of my house. It was unfailingly responsive, courteous and constructive. In a difficult selling period, the team was able to generate regular viewings by 'proceedable' buyers. I also used two other agencies and Beaux Villages promoted far more viewings than these other agencies. However, not only was I able to benefit from the high level of service from front line staff, I was very impressed by the efficiency and responsiveness of  the legal department who liaised very effectively between the parties and the Notaire.
