Helping you find a home in the magical Perigord Noir
It’s been 5 months since our lovely team in Cenac-et-Saint-Julien opened the doors to their new agency, and they’ve quickly settled into their new home. The new agency sits on the main street of the village with 2 large windows full of properties - you can’t miss it!
Juliette Bailey, who manages the agency, has worked in the French property industry for 20+ years. Originating from the UK, she has made the area her home and is very well-known in the local property market. With the new agency, the team of 12 now have a permanent work base in the area, and a warm and welcoming space to meet with property hunters and vendors.
The local team covers a sizable chunk of the Dordogne and Lot, stretching all the way from Montignac in the north, Monpazier in the west, Cahors in the south, and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne in the east.
Juliette knows why her local patch is so incredibly popular with home buyers and tourists alike: ‘I love this area because of the beautiful, dramatic and varied countryside. There is so much to see and do in this part of the Dordogne. The climate is fantastic and the food is pretty amazing too!’
A short drive (or walk) up the hill from the agency is Domme, a 12th century bastide village with panoramic views over the Dordogne Valley. The fortified walls and ramparts are still intact, and at the heart is the central square with the original open market hall and the entrance to the impressive Grotte de Domme, a cave system under the village. The village buzzes with cafes, shops and restaurants.
The surrounding Perigord Noir is a fabulous area. The main hub in the area is the magical Sarlat-la-Canéda, and there are plenty of other wonderful stone villages, chateaux and dramatic scenery to explore nearby.
Whether you’re looking for a cottage, village house or a chateau in the magical Perigord Noir, Juliette and the team are ready to help. See the Cenac agency and their local properties for sale here.
