Le Train, a Charente based challenger train operator that launched in 2020, is looking to provide up to 50 new daily services in western France.

Their trains would be made up of renovated TGV carriages and operate on the new high speed line between Tours and Bordeaux, which they say is currently being under-used.

They hope that their first services will start in 2023 with routes between Arcachon, Bordeaux, Angoulême, Poitiers, La Rochelle, Tours, Angers, Nantes and Rennes. Further southern routes linking Toulouse and the Pays Basque would be added in the following years.

The price of tickets will be similar to SNCFs low cost TGV option, Ouigo.
