New town, new life, new job

Think of the Dordogne and you’ll almost certainly have an image of Sarlat in your mind. The medieval centre is the absolute definition of picturesque and has the highest density of listed historic buildings anywhere in France.

Glowing golden stone, steep tiled roofs, cobbled streets and one of the best markets in France make this an unmissable destination. Wednesday mornings and all day Saturday are the times to make a beeline for the centre and take your pick of fresh produce from the many stalls. Local specialities abound including truffles, paté, walnuts, duck, all those good things that the Perigord region is rightly famed for.

And then there’s the weather. Long mellow summers, short, mild winters.  Yes, it rains but you don’t get lush greenery and rivers like this without a shower or two!

Sarlat is  also a real contender for somewhere to put down roots, find a job and make a fulfilling new life for you and your family.

An hour from Bergerac airport or 45 minutes from Brive with its airport and TGV station,  30 minutes from the A20 - this is a very well-connected town.

Properties in the town centre are as sought-after as you might expect from such a key destination yet all around there are smaller towns within easy striking distance that have their own appeal and which would make an ideal base for permanent home or holiday bolt-hole.

Include in your search places such as Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, Domme, Terrasson, Gourdon and Belves and you won’t be disappointed.

And workwise, there is a lot to be said for considering a future in property sales.  We are actively recruiting independent sales consultants in this evergreen area.  If you are already in the industry or feel that it is time for a new adventure join our next webinar to find out how you can create a new career with us.
