This Thursday is a bank holiday in France. It's All Saints' day and traditionally family used to go the cemetery to put flowers on graves of passed family members.

The French always choose Chrysanthemums - and they wouldn't use them for any other occasion (read our previous blog entry for tales of faux pas in France!).

Younger generations will choose to celebrate Halloween rather than buying flowers for their late grandparents or parents.

But the tradition of this day being a bank holiday is still strong and it also ties in with 1st World War commemorations.
