I have lived in France for 23 years and I can honestly say that I never tire of the beauty, open spaces and spectacular nature of "my" part of South West France. As an estate agent, there are two properties on our website which are very special to me - I have a particular penchant for living close to water. These most magical properties are on the coast overlooking the stunning Gironde Estuary and I love viewing both of them!

mybvi.fr/14579 is a picture perfect, contemporary version of a fisherman's cottage with direct access to the estuary and glorious views across to the Médoc. Close to all the hustle and bustle of the pretty village, fishing port and beaches of Meschers sur Gironde with it's many shops and restaurants, yet set in a quiet nature lovers' paradise where you can sit and watch the boats and birds in peace and tranquility. When I have a viewing booked, there is nothing i like more than to arrive an hour early - winter or summer, I sit in the pretty conservatory looking at the water and just forget about the outside world. At €175,000 this pretty haven is real food for the soul.

mybvi.fr/15831 sits up above the village of Meschers sur Gironde, just a minutes walk to the beach. A luminous, warm, cosy and contemporary family home with the same fabulous views across to the Médoc. In the orchard you feel like you are right in the middle of the French countryside. For peaceful beachside living, this property is perfect for a couple or a large family - with schools, doctor etc in the village. When you sit on the large terrace looking at the amazing view you just breath deeply and are instantly relaxed.

Both of these properties are real 'homes' with the light and magical feeling that only properties which look out over the water can have. So if you would like to visit either- or both - it would be a real pleasure to show you them!
