Hello from the Sunny Pyrenees Orientales in the South of France

The move from Dordogne has been made and I have been working down here since October.
It was a good, stress-free, move and I even got to use 2 different companies from clients who had 1. sold with Beaux Villages and 2. bought with Beaux Villages. Both had set up their own removal and storage companies in France and were very professional and cost efficient.
When you are relocating we have a list of good companies who can help you take the stress out of the "big move" from the UK to France or within France itself. (Just contact us)

I found a lovely 3 bed villa with a pool only 5 minutes to the sea located in a village with supermarkets, restaurants and schools. The cost was 290 000€. As you can see, this is an affordable part of the South of France.
The sea being close by was an important part of the search for me, but I could just have easily chosen the mountains with their ski resorts or the countryside with the hills and vines all around.
My daughter is happy in her new high School - Lycee Aristide Maillol in Perpignan. A great welcome for me as a mother and good facilities for the students. School buses and a canteen for the kids too. She settled in very quickly and made friends. As any parent will know this is most important for a peaceful life.

Straight to work 2 days after the move, I have taken on some super properties for you to visit. Villas like mine, apartments with views over the sea, village houses in the heart of the community and even a castle up in the mountains. But don't expect the large parcels with acres of land that you will find in departments like the Dordogne or Charente areas of France -they don't really exist here. Everyday a different view and a different town to discover!

The weather here is typically Mediterranean with mild winters, consistently dry summers, and moderate springs and autumns. It is one of France's sunniest areas with 300 days of sunshine each year - as my sun tan can attest to.

Covid-19 has of course had a huge effect on our lives but the French have really taken the restrictions seriously. No panic buying went on and I am happy to say soap and toilet paper have been constantly in stock in the supermarkets. In fact nothing has run out at all here or in other parts of the country.
Although you won't be able to come and see us for a few weeks why not check out the videos that our sellers have been making so that you can see around their houses from your armchair? We are selling this way and are continuing to work to help you find your French home.
