Nérac in Autumn

I am fortunate to be living the 'French Dream' in one of the most beautiful departments in France, the Lot et Garonne, and in the historical town of Nerac.

Even during the autumn and winter there is always something to do. If your're looking for the French laid-back way of life, look no further! Relax in the heart of hilly landscapes full of castles, old mills, quiet rivers and Pantagruel gastronomy.

Indulge in long walks on the Canal du Midi, stopping for refreshments in a little cafe to sample the many wines, my favourite being 'le Lys', a Buzet wine.

Nerac and surrounding communities is a beautifully well kept commune with old town and new commerce, old churches, and water mills. Boat trips, fishing, canoeing and equestrian activities, plus two golf courses and spa towns.

The famous weekly food market continues throughout the autumn and winter with seasonal produce.

My favourite dog walk goes across the Gothic bridge and offers panoramic views and superb old buildings, followed by a leisurely meander along the tow path.
