‘Omnipresent’ Canigou

How can it be possible for something to be ‘present in all places, at the same time’?

Canigou is said to be the sacred mountain of the Catalan. It stands at over 2700m and only 50km from the sea. Wherever you are, when you least expect it, it’s presence is felt.

When I am travelling around, searching for intriguing historical sites, pretty villages and other secrets of the Pyrénées-Orientales, or just driving to the supermarket, there IT is! I’m astounded by the beauty, the awe and wonder that the Canigou demands.

Even after 10 years of living beneath it, I still have the ‘How lucky am I?’ feeling.

I was enjoying the Spring sun at Easter last year, walking around Le Palais des rois de Majorque, Perpignan.

The bronze statues in the roof top garden are stunning. Looking through the camera lense, going for that dramatic shot of the bronze woman, there it is. Glistening, snow-capped, wanting centre stage.
