Here in the South West of France the autumn season is long, beautiful and with often exceptional weather. We who live here feel relief from the heat of the summer and the tourist buzz and we can relax into our French ways more comfortably once again.

There’s a surprising amount still happening around the departments we cover -- here we’ve collected a few as recommended by our team that are spread across our area. There’s something for everyone.

Sunday the 29th October in the Tarn-et-Garonne -- chestnut fair Laguepie - A very popular event in a beautiful Occitanie town.

Sunday 29th October in the Pyrénées Oritentales -- A multi stage marathon hosted by vineyards across the area. You don’t have to run! There’s mountain biking, kids activities and, of course, plenty of wine.

Saturday 11th November in the Lot-et-Garonne -- A huge vide grenier, brocante, marché gourmand and funfair. One for all the family and definitely worth the full day out.

Throughout the season in the Gironde -- the Agalliao Club put on numerous events including theatre, comedy and music. Follow the link to see their agenda for the whole season -- it will satisfy most tastes.

Jazz sur La Ville Festival, Marseille, November 3rd to December 3rd -- "Life is a lot like jazz. . . it’s best when you improvise," said George Gershwin.
10th edition of the Jazz Festival in Marseille with an endless list of gifted artists.

Wine and chocolate pairings From Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 November 2017

Enjoy this beautiful time of year and gear up for the Christmas markets!
