Hot air balloons flying over the village of Rocamadour

Rocamadour is a small cliff top village in the North of the Lot region of France and it is full of history. With the 13th-century Saint-Amadour Chapel and the Grand Escalier staircase, it is also a pilgrimage site with visitors from all over the world visiting the Black Madonna statue. The views from the village are breathtaking. This weekend the village will provide the backdrop to over 30 hot air balloons taking flight across the village - it is an amazing site to see.

When can I see the Rocamadour balloon festival?

The hot air balloons will take off at both 8.30am and 5pm on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September 2023 from the Canyon de l’Alzou at the foot of the village. There will also be a large brocante and games from 8am - 5pm on Sunday at the Place des Ecoles (ASSCA-Récréaroc). If you’re in the area, it is definitely an event not to be missed.
