South West France heavily represented in list of France’s healthiest towns

South West France has long been known for providing a great lifestyle. Whether it's the slower pace of life, the excellent climate, or the daily glass of red wine, we think its towns justly deserve their place in this latest ranking.

Published by the national newspaper, Le Figaro, the ranking compares the 100 French towns with the highest populations of over-75s. A number of factors were used to determine the healthiness of each town, including general health of the population, access to doctors and air quality.

The towns of South West France are clearly visible through the top 10. In the top 3 places are the beautiful towns of Albi, Tarbes and Bordeaux. Toulouse, Montauban and Bayonne come in at 8th, 9th and 10th place.
