Despite the uncertainty following the referendum result, there’s still considerable appetite for European property from British buyers, according to Smart Currency Exchange (ranked number 1 for currency and money transfers by Trust Pilot). They have collated some information from their key partners and industry experts.

Richard Way, Editor of Property Guides, says “Brexit or no Brexit, British people will continue to be able to buy property in European countries and live in them, just like nationals from non-European countries have done for decades, even centuries.”

Others state that: "Residents of the US, Canada, Russia and many other nationalities own properties throughout Europe, so while it may become slightly more complex for Brits [post-Brexit] clearly we are not going to be prevented from owning property in Europe. We believe the appetite for Brits to own property in the EU and around the world remains unchanged, it could get more expensive and slightly more complicated than had we stayed in the EU but there are no restrictions on non-EU nationals Brad and Angelina buying in Mallorca and there will be no restrictions on you!"
